Your Child is In Great Hands
Our Company
Discovery Zone Kids is registered in Georgia and opened its doors in October 2014. Children under 13 are served under the daycare during the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. About the Director
Jayshri Soni has owned and operated a successful tutoring company, focusing on supplemental education services under the No Child Left Behind Act, for nine years. By offering her services in not only Georgia, but also in North Carolina, South Carolina, and California, Jayshri has been able to help children reach their maximum potential, and gain confidence in their education. She has served over 3,000 students through tutoring during those nine years.
Before her tenure in the tutoring business, Mrs. Soni was a certified science teacher in McCormick, South Carolina. She holds a Master of Science degree along with a teaching certificate to teach all sciences. During her career, Jayshri has been nominated for the Presidential Award in Teaching of Math and Sciences, as well as Who's Who of American Women, which featured her biography in the 2007-2008 edition. As an advocate for her pupils, Jayshri has been successful in obtaining several mini-grants for her students. She is now pursuing her dream of reintroducing the “learn while you play” approach to childcare for all ages at Discovery Zone Kids.
Our Philosophy
At Discovery Zone Kids, we believe in the “Play and Learn” philosophy. Keeping children safe and clean is our priority. Children are escorted in and out of the classroom and the facility. They are supervised in the classroom and on the playground. Age appropriate structure is provided, and teachable moments are captured throughout the day. The entire facility uses age appropriate thematic activities to engage children in learning. For our daycare children, we use the “Learn Everyday” curriculum. For our PreK children, we use the “We Can” curriculum. Both are hands-on curriculums that support our philosophy of “Learn and Play”. For school age children, we help with homework and provide additional help as needed during the school year. During the summer camp, we do activities using ten fun filled thematic units. We communicate with parents regularly to keep them informed about the planned activities throughout the year and update them about our policies and procedures.
